We are super excited to announce that the CMaP-Bendigo Bank Jazz Scholarship 2024 has been awarded to Lucas Voigt.  

Lucas has been immersed in music all his life and started playing trumpet and jazz in Year 7; he is now in Year 11 at Ringwood Secondary College. We are looking forward to working with Lucas to prepare him for his monthly feature spots from April to September at Jazz On Sundays.

From Lucas

I am a jazz trumpet and piano player. I have been surrounded by music of different genres my whole life, and from a little kid I’ve had my family playing music around me.

My love of different genres over my life has allowed me to connect with the musical community in wonderful ways, and this opportunity is no exception. I started getting into jazz specifically when I first picked up the trumpet at the start of high school, and now it’s my favourite genre.

I thank everyone who is involved for this amazing opportunity, and I look forward to sharing my love of music with others.
